Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data GlobalVoice (the "Service"), provided by EdgePredict LLP ("we," "us," or "our"), processes when you use it, and how.

1. What We Process

When you click Start, the Service processes the following, only while a session is active:

• Microphone audio - streamed from your browser to our server in real time for speech recognition.
• Recognized text - the transcript produced from that audio.
• Translated text and synthesized audio - generated from the transcript for whichever language a listener has selected.
• Language preferences - the listening language and audio/captions-only setting you choose in the app.

2. What We Don't Do

GlobalVoice does not record or persistently store your microphone audio, transcripts, or translated output on our servers. Audio and text are processed in memory, in real time, for the sole purpose of producing captions and dubbed audio, and are not retained once a session ends.

3. Third-Party Processing

Speech recognition, translation, and speech synthesis are performed by Microsoft Azure AI Speech and Azure OpenAI. Audio and text you generate while using the Service are sent to these Microsoft services for processing. Microsoft's own retention and privacy practices for these services are described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Azure service-specific terms, which govern Microsoft's handling of that data independently of this policy.

4. Meeting and Conversation Consent

If you use the Service to capture speech in a meeting or conversation involving other people, you are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law before doing so. See our Terms of Use for more detail.

5. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

6. Security

We rely on Microsoft Azure's security infrastructure for all audio, text, and translation processing, and transmit data over encrypted connections.

7. Your Choices

You can switch to captions-only mode at any time to avoid generating dubbed audio, and you can stop a session at any point by clicking Stop - no further audio is captured once a session ends.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
